There was a "whole lot of cuttin' going on" with this card! I've had the bee sitting on my craft mess - yes, that is the new name for my craft desk! - for quite some time and decided to color it up. I had one lone sheet of the hexagons that I cut apart (as well as some additional yellow ones I created), inked them up, and added to a black card base. I liked the idea of the irregular cut lines and after two miserable tries, ended up with what it looked like in my mind! There were hexagons left over, so expect more bee cards in the days to come! |

This cute, near-sighted guy is going out to my young friend (and former student), Nathan. While politics separate us, there's still plenty we can talk about. I applaud his passion. This ant (?) is from a coloring page, so I don't know the artist or have a link to the page itself. I used Glossy Accents on his tortoiseshell glasses to add a bit of flair to him. Note: Tortoiseshell is deceptively difficult to color. His glasses just look like I made a bunch of mistakes on them! These two, hot dames are headed off to Oklahoma today. Sadly, you just can't see how sparkly they are. (Dear God-of-All-Things-Crafty: good call on that "Wink of Stella" idea!)
The well-endowed angel is from Mo Manning. It's a Valentine image doing double-duty as a Mother's Day angel. The witch is from Vera Lane Studio on Etsy and is actually a combination of two different stamp sets - "Vera's Borders" and "Good Witch." I'm exploring mixed media and these quirky digis are perfect for that. (Even though I didn't do it here!)
